Sawyer Update: The Mountain Got Bigger.

Test results show that Sawyer's kidneys have not improved.
As they tried to get his dialysis going today, Sawyer's artierial catheter failed and caused blood to hit in his spinal area.  We are having to have another catheter put in right away as he had already started dyalysis.  They are rushing him to intensive care to have the procedure done.
While they were trouble shooting the catheter, the x rays revealed an additional abnormality in his hips.  Something much more is happening here.  The mountain didn't move today, it got bigger.
Sawyer has been through a lot, especially in the last 24 hours. He is getting ready to go through much more today.  It is almost impossible to watch. Thank you for praying for God's healing.  Pray that He will carry Sawyer today and calm Sawyer with His love.

Fernando Ortega wrote and
we sang today:
"...When dark trials come
and my heart is filled
with the weight of doubt,
I will praise Him still.
For the Lord, our God,
He is STRONG to SAVE
from the ARMS OF DEATH,
from the deepest grave;
and He GAVE us LIFE in
His perfect will,
and by His GOOD GRACE
I will praise Him still."

I'm sure it's already been shared... but Psalm 18 - we are praying that over your family. This battle is not just Sawyer's, obviously, yours as well. Praying God's vast strength and peace for all of you. Wisdom for the doctor's, nurses, specialists... etc. Our God is good! You know that. We love you. The Grays

"The mountain didn't move today, it got bigger."

Be encouraged my friend. Everyone is praying and prayer changes everything even when it doesn't seem do be doing anything. Do not let the enemy fool you. So this mountain is no bigger, and it IS moving! See it with the eyes of faith because you are relying on what Jesus said in Mark 11:23-24, "If anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and DOES NOT DOUBT in their heart but BELIEVES that WHAT THEY SAY will happen, it will be done for them. Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours." And as James says, "He who doubts...receives nothing from the Lord," and "without faith, it is impossible to please God." Mountain move! No matter how big you seem to be, you are still not bigger than our God! So, you heard us, move!!! ;-)

Father, thank you that in spite of what seems to be, you are at work answering the prayers of many, and this for your glory. Show us that you are true to your word and you are indeed bigger. Thank you, Father!

Dear Toby and Family,

You are most certainly in our prayers. We serve an awesome God and he hears the petitions of His children!

Our daughter was at CHKD more times than I can count and I know how the stress can play on both patient and family. These little ones are wise beyond their years.

A verse that used to keep me sane (or a reasonable facsimily there of) was 2 Timothy 1:7 "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind."

We anticipate hearing that Sawyer is much imporved. Until then, may God bless you always and in all ways through this journey.

In His love, gail

Toby and Karen -- dear Toby and Karen -- my eyes are filled with tears as I write to you. Pastor Eric led our church to pray for you and Sawyer this morning. You ranked right up there with praying for the peace of Israel! Smile. Tears and laughter sometimes are how I get through things. I only know what you know. Our God is a faithful Abba Father. I'm praying Psalm 91:1-6 now. We will not stop praying on your behalf.

My youngest son has (in past) been in the hospital with impossible mountains too. Mountains in pregnancy. Mountains several times a year for years. God brought us through. We are seeing hope now. And, praise God he is 13 yrs old now! Praying for your son, your family and that mountain to MOVE and God be glorified!
God bless you,
Beth

I don't think we have met yet, but we also go to CCC and have been praying for you and Sawyer ever since we heard what was going on. This morning, just before Pastor Scott led us all in prayer for you, this was the song that the worship team opened the service with, and as we sang, it was my prayer for you:

Strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord
We will wait upon the Lord, we will wait upon you Lord
Our God, you reign forever
Our hope, our strong deliverer...
You are the everlasting God, the everlasting God
You do not faint, you won't grow weary
You're the defender of the weak, you comfort those in need
You lift us up on wings like eagles...

And it reminds me of this verse... even when your strength wears out, HIS never does:
He will not let your foot slip--he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. Psalm 121:3-4

Going boldly before the throne of grace on behalf of Sawyer and the whole family! May God comfort, guide and direct you as you keep your faith and hope in Him.

Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God, the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them— the LORD, who remains faithful forever. Psalm 146:5-6 NIV

Dear Toby and Karen,

We are having trouble expressing with words, what our hearts feel at this time for your family. You are in our prayers and thoughts since we heard about Sawyer, even in the middle of the night, prayers were ask that your mountain would move in a mighty way. We ask the league, and many others in church remember Sawyer in their prayers. Our verse for you and your family is Psalms 27:14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart; wait, I say, on the Lord. In His Grip, Stuart and Andrea Driscoll

Have been praying, am praying, and will be praying! Many friends/family are also praying and sharing updates with their F/F via Facebook. There is a WWW of support growing daily to lift up Sawyer's needs to the Great Physician, and to ask for grace, encouragement, and strength for your family.

And...
In the past few days I have learned that your family and Michelle Robinson's family both know David Keim's family. David and I were in college together at GWU. Small world indeed!
