Good Day.

As I shared in a recent post . Sawyer has been easily agitated, fearful, shut down and overall depressed as he tries to sort this all out in his 4 year old mind. However, today we had no procedures, dialysis or emergencies (other than the earthquake, but that doe not count!).  So, we poured ourselves into getting his mind off of his condition.

We had to be creative because he cannot move around much or leave his bed. He has a femoral catheter for dialysis that cannot be distrubed.  He has not walked in a week and he may not walk again until friday.

After lots of games, videos, smashing cars and action figures, opening cards from friends and partaking of his drink of choice, chocolate milk (renal friendly now), Sawyer started showing signs of life.  He laughed, made us laugh, asked questions, told jokes, and schemed for many more cups of chocolate milk.  We partied all day.

Today was a good day.

I called to the Lord in my distress; I called to my God. From His temple He heard my voice, and my cry for help reached his ears.(2 Samuel 22:7) Everyone needed a good day and the Lord heard.... love you guys we are all praying for Sawyer....Jeff, Sharon and Abbie

Praise the Lord for sending you an EARTHQUAKE! Isn't that just like the Lord to give the whole east coast an weird earthquake just to make you and Karen laugh? So happy to hear your description of the day! His mercies are new every morning. Blessings and sweet sleep for you all tonight. Praying for Sawyer's bed to be surrounded with protective angels as he sleeps tonight. Love,
Joan and Jan (Glad he enjoyed his card!)

We are so glad to hear that Sawyer had a good day. He has been on our minds all day. I find myself (Robin) awake during the night and I feel God is waking me to pray for Sawyer. I hope you feel everyones prayers as we lift your entire family up to God. We love the picture of Sawyer as he holds his card with the widest grin on his face. Praise God that he provides times of relief as he did today during the earthquake. An earthquake in Virginia? Who knew! God has bigger things for Sawyer to do. That is why he is here; such a precious child. Remember, when no one else can, God Can. He will show you " Great and mighty things which you know not" through these difficult times. We pray for a quiet and restful night for your entire family. God Bless You and Keep You, Robin, Pete and Girls

Thanking God...one day at a time. Up or down...you are always in His hands. And, like manna, God gives us His grace one day at a time. Sounds like God has carried YOU the past week, but today, Toby and Karen, YOU ran on your own...with His strength! YAY for a good day for you ALL!

God gives us His grace one day at a time, so I pray you can be at peace in Him each day. Today was blessed...and tomorrow, God WILL be faithful once again.

Praising God that Sawyer had a good day...and that he is one day closer to going home!!!

I love this! I hope he felt like he got part of his life back today. And we will continually pray that he gets to move and get up and around a little on Friday, maybe even get to have some outdoors sunshine. Our family has fallen in love with Sawyer.. our children ask for his updates first thing in the morning. Praying earnestly that you do not grow weary in doing good, spiritually and physically, and that when you need rest God brings it quickly and effectively. Blessings from the Stevens,
Courtney & Matt, Mary, Sam, Lizzie, Lydia, John & Abby

Oh, how good to see him smiling and happy! And to "hear" the relief and joy in your post as well. This one made me cry, but they were happy tears. SO glad the Lord gave you a good day after the past week! Praying for many more good days in the weeks ahead. We love y'all!!
